Opening Script
"Now that the positive belief is installed, we're going to do a body scan. Sometimes our body holds onto tension or discomfort even after we've processed a memory. This step helps make sure we've addressed everything."
Setup for Body Scan
"Close your eyes if that's comfortable. Bring up the original memory and hold it together with the positive belief: '[PC]'"
Conduct the Body Scan
"Now, slowly scan your body from head to toe. Notice any areas of tension, tightness, heaviness, or discomfort. Start at the top of your head... move down to your forehead... eyes... jaw... neck... shoulders... arms... chest... stomach... hips... legs... all the way down to your feet."
Wait for client response. Give them time.
Ask for Report
"What do you notice in your body?"

Target Completion Checklist
A target is considered complete when all of the following are true:
Future Template (if applicable)
After completing the target, install a future template for adaptive behavior:
"Now I'd like you to imagine a future situation where you might encounter something similar. Picture yourself handling it successfully with this new positive belief. What do you see?"
After client describes scenario:
"Hold that image of yourself successfully managing this situation with the belief '[PC].' Notice how it feels."
Apply BLS: 1-2 short sets
Child-Friendly Adaptations
"Now let's check your body! Keep thinking about the memory and that good thought. Start at the top of your head like you're checking if you're wearing an invisible hat... now your face, like checking for invisible paint... your shoulders and arms... your tummy... all the way down to your toes. Does anywhere feel yucky, tight, or weird?"
- Use body outlines for children to point to sensations
- "Does your body feel happy or is there still a grumpy spot?"
- Use stuffed animals to demonstrate body scan
